Modern sports emphasize more on developing the strength of body, while Oriental Living focus on nourishing the fundamental of body constitution. Body constitution practice starts from balancing our five internal organs and six hollow organs, from caring our origins to make us shine glory of healty from inside to outside.
Also, THE TAIJI BOXING CLASSIC says ' Chi is better to be nourished straight-forward without no harmness.
The way to exercise Chi, channels and meridians is to extend straightly without strength. That's why people exercise in this way look like a transcendent/slender/well-proportioned being. This is an obvious feature for those who practicing 'Oriential Living'.
So what are the differences between 'MINGMEN Oriental Living' and sports?
Let's explain in 3 orientations.
1. The trigger point is different.
Oriental Living exercise triggers from our kidneys, it's on the route of inter-promoting of Five Phases.
The trigger point is totally different between Oriental Living and sports. Sports focus more on exercising our cardiovascular, while Oriental Living pays attention to the tightness and relaxation of our TanTien (inside the abdomen below the navel). Taoism says that exercising by focusing on breathing is not a true Taoism way. Just keep breathing naturally is enough.
The Chi(Vital Energy) from TanTien links to kidneys, and Oriental Living exercises originate from kidneys. In the concept of Five Phases, kidneys dominating water metabolism, when kidneys (water) are well-cared, they nourish woods (liver). In this way, we are in the circulation of mutual generation of five phases.
Kidneys dominate water, and water generates wood.
Liver dominates wood, and wood generates fire.
Heart dominates fire, and fire generates earth.
Sleepen dominates earth, and earth generates metal.
Lungs dominate metal, and metal generates water.
As a result, our internal organs are nourishing mutually and reaching perfect status of balancing.
2. The training method is different.
Oriental Living is kind of 'Aerobics,' your bodies will feel like full-charged after exercising.
The movements of Oriental Living are simple and slow, they are not focusing on praciting of muscle strength or endurance, but focusing on stretching and activating our channels and meridians.
We will sweating during work out, this is not skin deep sweating, but elimiate deeper inpurities from our bodies.
Oriental Living is kind of 'Aerbocis', not 'Oxygen Consumption movements.' It acts slowly and it will not make us huffing and puffing or feel tired, exhuated after work out. It makes us feel well-charged instead.
It is suitale for all people at different ages or conditions.
It is interesting that we find those who practing Oriental Living , the olders have better foundations, ears and eyes, and flexible movements!
3. The focus is different.
'Internal Kung Fu' pays attention to the harmony between and 'Mind' and 'Body', to reach the balance condition of body and mind.
MINGMEN Oriental Living belongs to 'Internal Kung Fu', we pay much more attention on exercising internal behavior and mind in addition to exercising our stretch and flexibility.
By practicing each movement slowly , we learn to pay our attention to each movement, to observe the relaxation of every inch of our body, to feel every detail of each movement.
We simplify our thoughts, refine our minds and transform them into oneness. We practice body moves with mind to reach the state of 'Act the Chi (vital energy) by Mind, Nourish the body by Chi.'
This kind of practice helps us focus on NOW more easily while keeping relaxing of our body and mind in our busy daily life.
And this is the most perfect representation of Oriental Living.
Stay focus, act slowly, feel the delicates of yourself.
This is the charming of Oriental Living.
